Rating and Analysis

A Cost 2 attack dealing 18 damage (24 upgraded) that Exhausts a random card in hand and Exudes itself. Damage efficiency is above average for Cost 2, but losing a card in hand is a real drawback. With Exude synergies (Feel No Pain, Dark Embrace, Ash Strike), the drawback converts into additional value. Note that it Exudes itself, so you get only one use per combat. Since the Exhaust is random, consider the risk of losing key cards.

How to Use

Play it when your hand has few key cards to minimize Exhaust risk. Playing Will-o-Wisp last after dumping your hand leaves no Exhaust target, letting you deliver high damage safely. With Feel No Pain active, the Exhaust still generates Block, cushioning the downside. Dark Embrace converts the Exhaust into an extra draw. Exploit the one-per-combat limit by saving it for a boss's big-damage turn as a burst finisher.

Good Synergies

  • Feel No Pain: Power granting Block on Exude. Will-o-Wisp's Exhaust also produces Block, softening the drawback.
  • Dark Embrace: Power drawing on Exude. The Exhaust triggers an extra draw, offsetting hand loss.
  • Ash Strike: Attack scaling with Exude count. Will-o-Wisp pads the Exude pile to power up Ash Strike.
  • Searing Contract: Skill that Exudes cards to draw. Shares Exude synergy and helps tidy the hand.
  • War Drum: Power that Exudes at turn start. Supports Exude builds overall and turns Will-o-Wisp's drawback into synergy.
