A starter card from the opening deck. 5 Block for 1 energy is a weak rate by Defect standards, and Defect has access to many better Block cards. Upgraded is 8 Block, still short of Leap's 9.
In Frost decks, Frost orb passive Block handles most of the turn's defense anyway, which makes this card's role even smaller. It is an early shop-removal target — pulling a couple of these makes the deck noticeably tighter.
How to Use
- Use as early-game Block while you're still building the deck
- Swap out for Leap as soon as you pick one up
- Even lower priority once Frost orb cards (Cold Snap / Chill / Glacier) come online
- Prime target for shop removal
Synergies / Deck Types
- Nothing meaningful on its own
- Leap: direct replacement, a strictly better Block card
- Cold Snap / Chill: Frost orb Block handles defense, making Defend largely redundant
