Five Block hits the standard for a cost-1 defense card. The added Glass Channel makes it a support piece for Glass-focused decks. Running it alongside Spinner keeps a steady supply of Glass, and Glass Knife tops up the Orb count while also giving Block. It fills the role of defending while stacking Glass.
