C-tier
Cost 1 for 13 Block is an absurd defensive rate, but the trade is 2 Wounds added to the discard pile. It beats Emergency Dodge (7 Block) and Leap (9 Block) by a huge margin on raw Block, but the deck pollution from Wounds is the problem.
It works as emergency defense when you only need to survive a single spike turn. If the deck can convert the downside via Compress or Synthesis, the cost shrinks to manageable. As a generic pick it is weak; as a conditional pick in Status-conversion decks, it earns its spot.
How to Use
- Use as one-shot emergency defense against big incoming damage
- Pair with Compress to fuel a free draw from each Wound, neutralizing the downside
- Pair with Synthesis to Exude every Status in hand and convert them into Energy
- With Reflex, drawing a Wound triggers 2 draw, turning the debuff into tempo
Synergies / Deck Types
- Compress: Converts 2 Wounds into fuel (0-cost Exude + 1 draw). Cancels the downside while guaranteeing draws
- Synthesis: Exudes every Status in hand and adds 1 Energy per card. Wounds are valid conversion targets
- Reflex: Draw 2 when drawing a Status (including Wounds). Turns the downside into draw acceleration
- Sludge Fling: Leverages Statuses in the discard pile. Pairs well since Reckless Charge stocks Wounds there
