Rating

Radiant Pearl is an extremely strong boss-tier relic that upgrades every card in your deck at the start of combat. Each individual upgrade may look modest, but the effect spans the whole deck, and the compounded power spike is enormous. The more un-upgraded cards you hold, the more value you extract.

Concrete Upgrade Value

  • Attack cards: damage typically rises 20-50%
  • Skill cards: more Block or reduced cost
  • Power cards: higher effect values or reduced cost — Power upgrades are especially impactful
  • Because everything upgrades at combat start, you no longer need to spend rest sites on Smith

Rest Site Usage Shifts

  • Rest sites normally spent on upgrading can all go to heal
  • More healing opportunities means you enter elites and bosses at full health
  • Overall run stability rises sharply

Acquisition Timing

  • If you already have many upgraded cards, returns shrink
  • Grabbing it after Act 1 means every remaining combat enjoys the full-upgrade benefit
  • Newly added cards also auto-upgrade going forward, so card pickup value rises

Character Ratings

Character Rating Comment
Ironclad S Strength attacks upgrade beautifully; upgraded Heavy Blade becomes a finisher
Silent S Poison card upgrades speed up Poison ramp across the whole deck
Defect S+ Orb-related upgrades are huge; Focus and orb generation jumps make setup much faster
Necrobinder A+ Minion card upgrades raise their stats, though some upgrades are modest
Regent S Forge card upgrades improve generated cards; Star-consuming cards also gain efficiency

Synergies

Card / Relic Reason
Decks with many un-upgraded cards More upgrades = more value; perfect if you used rest sites for healing
High-cost cards Cost-reduction upgrades dramatically improve playability
Power suites Upgraded Powers deliver permanent-effect boosts that compound
Card-hungry builds New additions auto-upgrade at combat start, raising the value of each pickup

Tips

  • Once acquired, rest sites can go all-in on healing; upgrading is redundant
  • Prioritize card rewards whose upgrade is especially impactful
  • Already-upgraded cards stay as-is — no double upgrade
  • Overlap with other auto-upgrade relics (e.g., Battle Scars) can be wasted value
  • Thicker decks benefit more in absolute terms; this is the opposite philosophy of a slim deck
