Rating
Prismatic Gem makes card rewards appear from every character's card pool. It opens access to strong cards outside your character — but the chance of hitting a specific card drops significantly.
Pros
- Fold powerful cards from other characters into the deck. Example: Silent poison cards for Ironclad
- A broader card pool makes for surprise synergies and fun discoveries
- Specific combos (combining Strength with multi-hit from another character) can enable builds that are normally impossible
- Each STS2 character has unique mechanics, so mixed-mechanic decks become feasible
Cons
- Card pool becomes roughly 5x larger, heavily reducing the chance of any specific card appearing
- Build direction becomes harder to commit to — card-pick decisions get murkier
- Off-character cards without synergy compromise deck consistency
- Character-specific mechanics (orbs, minions, stars) may not function using only off-character cards
Character Ratings
| Character | Rating | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Ironclad | B | Can add poison / weaken to Strength builds, but at the cost of consistency |
| Silent | B+ | Add strong off-character attacks or powers. Poison + other mechanics is fun |
| Defect | C+ | Orb mechanics depend on specific cards, so off-character cards give little |
| Necrobinder | C+ | Summon systems only work with specific cards — limited mixing benefit |
| Regent | B | Star systems stand apart, but general attack/defense cards from others are useful |
Synergies
| Card / Relic | Reason |
|---|---|
| Good-stuff builds | Builds that don't depend on narrow synergies let off-character cards shine |
| Snecko Eye | Wide pool plus random cost makes high-cost off-character cards playable at 0 |
| Deck-compression tools | Purge off-character cards you don't want, keep only the strong ones |
How to Play
- Pick off-character cards on raw strength — "is it strong standalone?"
- Non-mechanic-dependent cards (Block, generic damage) from other characters are safer
- Off-character power cards are particularly strong. One-time play reduces synergy issues
- No need to force off-character picks. If your own cards are stronger, take those
