Bound Phylactery

Bound Phylactery is Necrobinder's starter relic, automatically granting 1 Summon at the start of every turn. Osty (your companion skeleton) gets a guaranteed action each turn, forming the baseline of Necrobinder's minion strategy.

Necrobinder combats revolve around Osty's actions, and the 1 Summon lets Osty attack or assist with block every turn. Extra summon cards add more actions, but the relic alone maintains minimum minion pressure. Early decks don't have many summon cards, so play without this auto-summon would be painful.

After the Act 1 boss you can upgrade to Unbound Phylactery (5 Summon at combat start, 2 Summon per turn). Doubling your summon throughput is very strong, and upgrading is correct in nearly every situation. Necrobinder's starter relic gains more from upgrading than most starter relics in the game.
