Gold-Plated Cables is a Defect-exclusive relic that triggers the passive of your rightmost Orb one extra time. Which Orb sits on the right dramatically changes the relic's value, so this rewards sharp Orb-slot management.
The catch is slot positioning. New Orbs channel into the leftmost position, so the rightmost Orb is the oldest one. When slots are full, the rightmost Orb gets Evoked — and that loses your buffed Orb. Adding slots with Runic Capacitor makes management far easier.
