Rating and Analysis
A Cost 1 attack that deals 7 damage (9 upgraded) and makes every subsequent Block gain deal 5 damage (7 upgraded) that turn. Its Block-into-damage effect is uniquely powerful, turning defense directly into offense. When combined with heavy Block sources (Barricade, Flame Barrier, Impervious, Shrug It Off, Blood Cloak), you can rack up huge defense while pumping out equal amounts of extra damage. Used in the same turn as Flame Barrier (16 Block), it deals massive burst. Serves as the attack engine in Block-heavy builds.
How to Use
Play Grapple, then spam Block-gaining cards (Shrug It Off, Flame Barrier, Impervious, Rampart) in the same turn to deal damage with every Block gain. Combined with Juggernaut, each Block gain triggers Juggernaut's damage plus Grapple's damage — a double-hit combo. With Blood Cloak (HP loss + auto Block each turn), Grapple fires at turn start for free damage. An essential attack source in defensive decks that lack offensive output.
Good Synergies
- Flame Barrier: 12-16 Block skill. Used the same turn as Grapple for massive bonus damage.
- Juggernaut: Damage on Block gain. Double-hit every time you gain Block.
- Impervious: 2-cost 30-40 Block + Exude skill. Massive 30-40 damage burst during Grapple.
- Blood Cloak: HP loss + Block at turn start. Auto-triggers Grapple's bonus every turn.
- Barricade: Retains Block across turns. Use Grapple every turn while stacking Block.
