A Cost 3 attack dealing 15 damage (20 upgraded) while reducing enemy Strength by 10 (15 upgraded) for that turn. Damage itself is somewhat low for Cost 3, but the Strength debuff dramatically reduces enemy attack power. Used against high-Strength bosses (enemies that stack Strength), it can significantly cut incoming damage that turn. Especially valuable against "big burst per turn" boss fights. The debuff is "this turn" only, so if you can't replay it every turn, defense isn't consistent. Keep that in mind.

Time it with turns where the enemy telegraphs a big attack (the attack intent icon) to maximize the Strength debuff. Against enemies with Strength stacked to 15, this effectively neutralizes their damage that turn. Cost 3 is heavy, so secure Energy with Bonfire Spirits or Bloodletting first. For multi-turn enemy attack suppression, combine with every-turn tools (like Weak). Pairing with Weak- and Frail-applicators further reduces incoming damage. Upgraded 15 Strength reduction covers more attack-type bosses.

• Bash / Uppercut: Frail and Weak applicators. Combined with Carve's Strength debuff, enemy effective damage collapses.
• Bonfire Spirits: Turn-start Energy power. Secures the Energy to cast Cost 3 Carve every turn.
• Giant: 50% damage cut from Weak enemies. Apply Weak first, then Carve — cuts incoming damage further.
• Shrug It Off: Block + draw skill. Play in the same turn as Carve to stack Block.
• Demon Form: Turn-start Strength power. While debuffing enemy Strength, grow your own Strength to balance damage output.
