Rating
A Cost 0 card that trades 3 HP for 2 Energy — powerful resource acceleration. Upgraded grants 3 Energy, enabling explosive turns with Whirlwind (X attacks) or Offering. HP cost is risky, but Ironclad thrives on HP-leveraged strategies, and Crimson Robe, Malice, Blood Boil, etc. turn the HP loss into advantage. Early, use it cautiously, but once the deck stabilizes, it becomes a decisive accelerator.
How to Use
Use on turns with HP buffer to offset Energy shortages. Especially explosive with X-cost cards (Whirlwind, Cascade). Every-turn use burns HP quickly, so consider holding off once HP drops below half. Malice (draw on this-turn HP loss) pairs perfectly — Cost 0 "2 Energy + 1 draw + 6 damage." Blood Boil (HP loss → Strength) is also strong — 0 cost for both Strength buff and Energy.
Synergies / Deck Types
- Whirlwind: X-cost AoE. Bloodletting's extra Energy raises X, dramatically boosting damage.
- Malice: Draws on this-turn HP loss. Bloodletting's HP loss becomes card advantage.
- Blood Boil: Power granting Strength on HP loss. Bloodletting's HP cost becomes a Strength buff, boosting offense.
- Crimson Robe: Turn-start HP loss + Block power. Pairs naturally in HP-consumption builds.
- Offering: 6 HP for 2 Energy + mass draw. Combined with Bloodletting, concentrates massive resources in one turn.
Pick Priority
- Early Act 1: High. Common, easy to find, and pairs strongly with Whirlwind and high-cost cards from the start.
- Late Act 1: High. As the deck matures and Energy shortages appear, Bloodletting shines.
- Act 2+: High. With HP-consumption deck parts online, value rises further.
- Boss reward: Medium. Other rare cards often take priority in boss picks.
