Cammy countermeasures guide

Basic Info

214P

  • 214LP
    • Cammy is -3 on Block
  • 214MP
    • Cammy is -2 on Block
  • 214HP
    • Cammy is +3 on Block
  • 214PP

The heavy version is +3F on Block.

As a counter, reacting with a jab is ideal, but if your reaction is late it leads to a painful combo. The recommended approach is to aim for Just Parry.

236P

The following followups branch from here:

  • 214K
    • High
  • 236P→(no input)
    • Low
  • 236P→2K
    • Overhead
  • 236P→(Against standing opponent at close range) LPLK
    • Throw
  • 236P→P
    • Invincible phase

When used suddenly in Neutral, both followups have slow Startup, so you can easily beat them with a jab on reaction.

(During forward jump) 214K

An aerial assault rush-down move, commonly known as Cannon Strike.

The counter is to not press buttons recklessly on reversal (after blockstun ends).

Cammy uses Cannon Strike after normals like MP and MK are Blocked to punish your counter-poke attempts. After Blocking a move, instead of pressing a counter-poke, mix in neutral jumps and backsteps to get your own return against (During forward jump) 214K. Pressing a long-range normal with strong upward hitbox as a delayed counter-poke is also viable.

LPLK

+21F situation.

Rush jab can beat OD moves as a safejump, so while it’s a real mixup, taking Quick Rise makes walk Shimmy impossible.

4LPLK

+17 situation. Even Quick Rise doesn’t give Cammy any proper Oki, so Quick Rise is the way to go. If Cammy uses Rush after that, invincible reversal is guaranteed, so don’t forget to use it.
